"If leaders do not take the climate crisis seriously, that will depress me a bit, but it’s a motivator right now for me to get out there and do something."
"If leaders do not take the climate crisis seriously, that will depress me a bit, but it’s a motivator right now for me to get out there and do something."
But it always turns out for the best, it seems.
“Well I’m very positive about it, you know, I’m looking forward to it. I don’t have any aches or pains or worries so I’m okay!”
So we can either choose to continue down the one path of ignoring that, and continuing on with the greed-based…or not paying attention to what the environment’s telling us, or we can wake up and pay attention–make the hard choices now, go through a little bit of difficulty now so we actually have something down the road.
“Um, optimistic most times, and deeply pessimistic at times as well. But I do as much as I can to push myself into the helpful place. It’s a scary world.”
"...And a career– it’s really hard to decide when I feel like the current state of our environment is so on-the-fringes and unknown."
"...Think about small town community, keep things local, and, yeah just try to do what we can to keep going and try not to get too down about the fact that everything’s a little scary right now in the world, so, yeah.”
"I feel good about the future. I feel good about this generation–call it ‘generation what-you-will.’ Call them millennials. Call it anything, but I call it the ‘generation of change.’"
"I think the problem is as much in our habits but also with the system, and so until those big systemic changes happen, I don’t really see how it’s going to get any better, and even if it gets better, it has to get so much better so fast that I’m not sure that we’re even capable of doing it.”
